If you are looking for VIP Protection in Florida, go to the source. ESS Global in Tampa, is the only Florida Department of Education licensed Protection School in Florida. So where do you go for the very best in VIP, Celebrity and Executive Protection? ESS Global Corp.
All too often, we find that clients come to us when they discover “VIP Transportation” companies are nothing more than “armed chauffeurs” commanding pretty much the same rates as using real protection from ESS Global.
VIP Protection in Florida
ESS Global Corp knows that safety begins with proper planning. It is generally agreed that in order for an attack or any other disturbance to take place three conditions must exist; motivation, capability and opportunity. There’s not much we can do about a potential attacker’s motivation, and their capabilities are theirs alone. Those variables are out of your control and out of our control. What ESS Global can address is denying opportunity by using advance tactics and recon. By minimizing the opportunity, a close protection security firm can greatly minimize the chances of an attack or disturbance. This is where most all VIP Transportation companies fail.
The advance work should include everything from travel arrangements from the moment you disembark from the plane at the airport; to lodging, route planning, securing vehicles, securing permits and communication/monitoring gear, to tasks such as making sure any and all information is secure and details are not leaked.
We realize that the unexpected happens. We train to be prepared for the unexpected. We also plan to prevent it. Those prevention plans are alien to most VIP transportation companies and those prevention plans are the “behind the scenes” work our clients never see. They just know that everything went well and there were no hang-ups, glitches or surprises. ESS Global Corp provides VIP protection in Florida as well as secure transportation throughout Florida, and has a presence in cities such as Orlando, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, as well as our corporate location in Tampa. Have questions? Give us a call or drop us an e-mail.
At ESS Global Corp, we know that everyday situations in relatively safe locations are not necessarily totally risk free, and that incidents affecting personal safety can and do happen every day, either directly or indirectly, putting you at risk.
But we also know that you can rest assured with ESS Global Executive Protection Services. Our executive protection agents are trained in our own Florida Department of Education licensed facility in Tampa, which is the only Department of Education licensed Protection School in Florida (and one of only a handful nationwide). Because of this, our agents can perform many functions that “armed chauffeurs” and “VIP transportation” companies have never even heard about, much less been trained on.

Terror attacks in the US, terrorist bombings in the UK, and kidnappings in South America have focused a spotlight on executive/celebrity close protection, both here and abroad. But more often, it’s a political activist, an overzealous fan or a disgruntled ex-employee trying to force his way into the CEO office. It’s more often these “less than headline grabbing problems” close protection deals with.
Are you considering a job in the fast growing Close Protection Bodyguard field? Or perhaps you are considering hiring a Close Protection Specialist. ESS Global would like to give you an inside look at Executive Protection.
ESS Global Corp is one of just a handful of Close Protection Schools nationwide that are Department of Education certified and licensed and is the only Close Protection School licensed by the State of Florida. ESS is also one of the nation’s largest Close Protection Service Agencies with active agents in cities across the country.
We thought we would take a moment, track down CEO Theo Billiris and look “behind the curtain” and answer some of the more common questions both our students and clients ask us, and share this with you.
An Inside Look at Executive Protection
What is the very first step in executive/close protection?
Get licensed in the state in which you reside and get certified at a reputable Executive Protection School. Licensed schools, such as ESS, are preferred as both our students and our clients can rest easy in knowing that the school has been and continues to be monitored and regulated by the D.O.E. On top of that, all instructors and curriculums are evaluated yearly.
What are the advantages of having a personal bodyguard? Why do celebrities and top business or political icons keep bodyguards?
Protection obviously, but even more so, convenience and making life easy. Example: when you have an Executive Protection agent, they take care of all planning on trips. Choosing hotels, restaurants, etc. and perform all security checks at those places. Then, when you arrive, you don’t have to worry about checking in or waiting for service. It’s already done. You don’t have to worry about how to get from place to place. The route recon is already complete. You just sit back and enjoy the trip. Leave the details to us.
What is the client expectation vs real life?
Well the biggest thing is they believe that when they have you, they can go and do “whatever” and expect that nothing will happen to them. The best clients understand that we are there to keep them safe, which sometimes means heeding our advice/threat assessments and not going to some places they want to go.
Also, we often see that since nothing bad happens they start to think they don’t need us. The only reason nothing bad happens is because of what we do that they don’t see. Successful Close Protection leans strongly on threat assessments and security advances that they never witness.
Are there “cardinal rules” to follow?
Confidentiality. The best Close Protection Agents never become too familiar or comfortable – always remember they are client, not a friend.
Describe a “Typical Assignment”
Every assignment starts with a client interview/profiling. We learn about the client and their expectations. Next, we conduct a security advance of where we will be going. This includes site surveys and threat assessments of all places we will visit on the trip. We also conduct route recon on all possible routes between venues. Lastly, putting everything we learned from our advance team and putting it into play on the day of the detail. On that day we will protect the client and create an experience for them that was easy and relaxed.
What are the little things that make a difference?
At ESS Global, it’s our attention to detail. It’s important to really know your client, and that comes from our experience in the initial interview and our “Client Profile” setup. Do they like a certain drink or snack and having that in the vehicle or hotel room before they enter. Also, learning to remain professional and staying composed even if the client acts irrationally or becomes angry with you. Actually, that’s a big thing.
Do you use surveillance equipment? EP is really not like this
Yes we do. For obvious reasons, we need to be discrete here, but yes, we use state of the art surveillance and tracking devices. It also gets more complicated when we are contracted with protecting the family. Sadly, sometimes the best and easiest target is a family member.
Do you carry weapons all the time?
No, we are only armed when requested by our client. It’s really quite different than it’s portrayed in the media.
What sets ESS apart from the rest?
It’s the fact that we are a D.O.E. licensed school as well and have the ability to choose the best students for employment because we are able to assess them through the schooling process. Most other companies who hire from other “trainers” don’t get to assess them until they are working. This can obviously become a liability.
Lastly, was there ever a time when quick thinking saved the day?
Everyday! Clients change their minds by the minute. You really have to be able to think dynamically in the moment. There is always a solution. There is always somebody that knows how to get what your client wants. “No” or “I can’t” is never an option.
There is a Difference
Theo Billiris CEO of ESS Global Corp: “We find that most of executive protection companies send out an off-duty policeman with a gun. What you need to understand is if there was some sort of semi-planned attack, these guys would be of no value, or worse, dead. There was no recon, no planning, no preparation, no game plan in place, just an off-duty cop and a gun. That’s really not Executive Protection, it’s an off-duty officer. There is a big difference.” Executive Close Protection has changed over the last 10-15 years. Today’s agents are intelligent, discreet, and highly trained professionals. ESS agents have been D.O.E. trained and continue to train as they perfect their craft. Our agents come from vast backgrounds such as Military, Law Enforcement, Government Agencies and Executive Protection schools just to name a few. With this array of various backgrounds, we are able to put together protection teams that will fit and fulfill your specific security need.
ESS Global Corp is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. D.O.E Executive Protection Classes are also offered throughout the year in Tampa and as far away as Los Angeles. If you are looking to change careers and be the best and train with the best, we’d love to talk.
If you’re considering hiring an EP agent give us a call. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Security Guard Services in Florida – ESS Global Corp
Having a comfortable feeling of security is something that every person is entitled to. While sometimes it’s easier to guarantee security at home, a person still needs to feel safe no matter where he or she is when out of the house. Whether it’s going for a stroll some evening in one’s neighborhood or attending church. It could be attending a high school football game, or a concert venue to hear your favorite artist. People shouldn’t have to worry about their safety and security. In these types of environments, personal security can be greatly enhanced by the presence of a professional security service. Neighborhood and HOA Security Patrols
Going for a walk after dinner is something that many people like to do. However, some people are afraid to undertake this walk activity after certain hours due to the fact that they’re worried about how secure their neighborhoods are. When that happens, a personal sense of security is diminished or even completely lost. If, however, these same neighborhoods, HOA’s and apartment complexes are monitored by our highly trained professional neighborhood security guard service, this can give residents the peace of mind that they need in order to feel comfortable going out at any time of the day or night. It’s a small investment for both safety and protection of property. Workplace Security
Being productive at work depends on a number of different factors, but one important factor is feeling a sense of security and safety. Employers can do a great number of things to increase this sense of safety, such as issue ID cards and perform comprehensive background checks. However, many employers don’t understand that they can ensure that employees are safe in other ways, for instance, when they are traveling to their vehicles from the office building, or when an employee is terminated (or keeping that employee from coming back for trouble). When relying on a professional security services they can ensure that employees feel completely secure when they are entering, working, and exiting their office buildings with an affordable investment. Churches and Non-Profits Church violence is rising. Thousands of times a year violence happens within the walls of a church or religious center. Although the government does not track church violence, news reports put the figure in the tens of thousands over the last 15 years and deaths at nearly 500. ESS Global Corp can either provide faith-based security during church events or administer world class training that keeps your people prepared. Venue Security
When thousands of people get together to attend a game, visit an attraction, or take in a concert, safety is the last thing on their minds. Venue security is critical to a successful event. ESS Global Corp works with entertainment, sports, and meeting management in venues all over the world to ensure that the venue security is robust and effective.
ESS Global Corporation is the global leader in security, with offices in both Tampa and Orlando.

ESS Global Corp is a full service security firm providing executive close protection services in Florida and Worldwide. ‘Executive Protection’ is a phrase that conjures up images of bodyguards and highly trained professionals protecting executives, celebrities, politicians and other VIPs from danger on the road, at their home, and at their place of work.
Executive Close Protection Services in Florida
While it’s true that executive security personnel indeed protect these people, the longstanding myth is that close protection is reserved for the elite “superstars” that are at an exceptionally high risk.
The fact is, there are many people who can actually benefit from executive security, otherwise known as close protection. Here are some of the types of individual that can benefit from engaging a close protection specialist.
You do not necessarily need to be a celebrity, a politician, or own a billion dollar business to require your own close protection – anyone who has experienced a sudden amount of public attention may also need one. This is often the case for members of the general public that have become widely known for any reason. This could be for any reason such as a media scandal or being seen on TV holding a big lottery check.
If you handle money, whether at a church or a bank or anything in between, close protection can make a significant difference in assuring the safety of the individual charged with this task. The same holds true in the transport of the money, as in many cases that presents the highest risk.
In the case of expensive possessions, engaging the services of a close protection specialist can prove to be invaluable. Transporting diamonds? Sensitive documents or information? There are many instances where it’s not the person someone could be after, it’s their possessions.
Divorces and domestic disputes is another reason protection services are used. Sometimes when spouses split up, the potential for violence exists. Either party to the divorce may enlist the services of a personal close protection expert if the other has threatened to harm them. In the case of domestic disputes, many security agencies are called upon to provide a level of protection to those who fear retribution from a threatening, violent or otherwise unpredictable ex-partner. If you feel that your safety is threatened by anyone you know, regardless of your relationship with them, hiring executive security can be one way to find some peace and normality until the issue is resolved.
Travel, especially if it’s out of the country. People often hire close personal protection for business and personal trips they make. Whether you are traveling outside of the country, or going to a high-dollar business meetings, the services of a protection specialist may be called upon. And it’s not just the usual hotspots you need to worry about. People traveling to Europe, India and other places that used to be considered safe are calling security firms like ESS Global Corp to ensure their safety abroad.
There are many reasons to hire a close protection specialist. At ESS Global Corp, we have your back. ESS has offices in Tampa and Orlando and is the leader in executive close protection services in Florida.
ESS Global Corp provides executive and close protection specialists, not just minimally trained bodyguards in order to keep our clients safe. Our Protection Services Include: Executive and Close-Personal Protection, Risk Assessments, Anti-Terrorism, Executive Travel, Self-Protection Training, Club and Venue Security and CPR/First Aid.

Church violence rising – ESS Global Corp provides faith based church security in Tampa, Orlando and throughout Florida and the US.
Church Violence Rising – ESS Global Corp
While once rare, acts of violence at churches are increasing by double digits every year. One only needs to go to Google news and search for “Church Violence”. Sadly, it happens every day.
For instance, last week, on 07/26/15, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office arrested Song Su Kim, age 30 of Falls Church Virginia, on charges of first degree murder, second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and two counts of first-degree assault. At approximately 7:45 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the Anna Prayer Mountain Church, located on Peters Rd, for a report of multiple stabbings. Through the investigation it was determine Kim stabbed a male, age 62, and female age 57, during a church service. The male victim died.
The first Sunday in August brought not one, but two bombings of churches (Baptist and Catholic) in Arizona. Thankfully, there were no deaths or serious injuries, though there was property damage.
Violent acts may include robbery, assault, rape, attempted murder and murder. Nearly 500 people have been killed on church property in the last 15 years. Many more have been seriously injured.
The majority of violent acts are carried out by people who have some connection to the congregation. The most common violent act at churches, is a shooting. Often there are precursors or warning signs to the violent act, such as threats or previous outbursts, disputes, or confrontations. Other times the violence comes out of the blue with no warning at all.
Most churches are unprepared for a violent event or how to handle the immediate aftermath. These are the churches that have the greatest risk and as such, have the most to gain from a church security analysis from the church security experts at ESS Global Corp. Who is at Risk?
No church is immune to the risk of a violent episode occurring. Larger churches have the greatest risk since as the numbers rise, so does the risk. Churches and places of worship of all religions, sizes, and locations have experienced acts of violence.
There is no assurance that a violent episode in church can be avoided. However, you can be prepared for the possibility of an incident occurring with the addition of qualified, professional security personnel. ESS Global Corp also offers church security training. On August 3, 2015, ESS Global Corp received a letter from Brandon White, Executive Pastor at Without Walls International Church in Tampa.
Pastor White summed up both the need and the completeness of our services. “As a large church in the Tampa Bay community, the safety and security of the attending congregation is held in the highest regards, which should never be marginalized as a second thought. One of the greatest aspects of the training was the full assurance of complete understanding before introducing any new concepts, terminology, or practical application revealed the desire your team has to help others in achieving their goals. In addition, you have gone above and beyond by offering your services for future follow up sessions to ensure proper implementation, which is a genuine characteristic of both your integrity and ethical uprightness.” By taking responsibility for the safety of your church with “faith based” security, you will have done the best thing possible to prevent a violent incident from occurring.
ESS Global provides church security as well as church security training. Since most churches have no security plan in place, this is a great place to start.
Give us a call and let’s talk about “faith based” church security and the ESS Global difference.
ESS Global Corp, based in Tampa, is Florida’s best value in property management security services for apartment, condominium and HOA security in Florida. ESS Global Corp officers not only protect people and property, but also minimize your risk and liabilities, while increasing your property’s marketability and tenant retention.
Apartment, Condominium, and HOA Security In Florida
It goes without saying that if you keep your community relatively crime-free it improves business. So how does your apartment and condominium security directly correlate to making more money? Well, you need to keep the occupancy rates high and attract good people and families to rent to. Above all, the right security company will find the proper balance, serving both the needs of the management company and the needs of the residents and their families. This is where having the right security company can do both.
Bad residents don’t like good security. If a resident is looking to sell drugs, or commit any crimes, they tend to look for complexes that don’t have security. The reality is that having the right security guard company will eventually attract good, long-term residents, because in your apartment/condo/gated community they will feel safe. But bad things happen in even in good places. ESS Global Corp HOA Security
ESS Global apartment/condominium/gated community/HOA private security services includes: gate guards, walking guard and mobile patrols, pool and clubhouse usage and access, access and area control, identification verification, alarm monitoring and response, loss prevention, parking enforcement, theft and crime deterrence, policy enforcement, and more with complete daily log reports. Additionally, our security officers will be present for evictions and conflict resolution. Professionally Trained
All of our officers complete a rigorous security training program at our school, which is the only Security School in Florida licensed by the Florida Department of Education. We offer emergency, short and long-term uniformed guards, and they can be either armed or unarmed. More and more soft targets are getting hit.
Whether it’s a movie theater or a church, or your home or your car. No one is 100% safe anymore. You know you have the right security company when a simple task, such as checking frequently on a home when the owners are off on vacation, to a complex task as “de-escalating” a conflict, is handled courteously and professionally for all parties. ESS Global is the right choice for apartment, condominium and HOA security in Florida. We are a leader in property management security services.
We offer a complimentary on-site security survey to every client we meet, which allows us to determine your specific vulnerabilities, threats, and needs. ESS Global Corp strives to ensure that you receive the best return on your security investment, and that your security efforts effectively reinforce your policies and procedures. Whether you are looking for a temporary security service for a “stopgap” measure or a full-service, comprehensive security program, you can trust that ESS Global Corp protective services will be carried out with the utmost in professional integrity and vigilance.
