INTRODUCTION
It is ESS Global Corporation’s top priority to ensure our customers complete our courses with the highest quality and thorough training available, and the most up to date information. Our firearms instructor comes to the table with 40 plus years of experience in the security industry.
As per Florida State Chapter 493 provision, all Florida License “G” Armed Security Officers must re-qualify, at least once a year, by training and being evaluated on their use of a handgun.
The licensee must also submit proof that a minimum of four hours of firearms re-certification training, taught by a Class “K” licensee, has been received for that year of the license period.
This proof is done by turning in form # 16005 CERTIFICATE OF FIREARMS PROFICIENCY FOR STATEWIDE FIREARM LICENSE (given to the student by the instructor) to the Division of Licensing upon completion, but before certified date, of the four-hour course. Program Description
The 4-hour course will consist of classroom time, testing, review and range time. Classroom: Two hours of class will be given according to regulations. There is a mandatory class curriculum that will be conducted during this period. The student is asked to bring their firearm to the classroom unloaded along with duty belt if applicable, a minimum of two speed loaders or two magazines as appropriate as there will be dry fire practice. Test and Review: A 25 question written test will be administered after the class curriculum is done. The student will have up to one hour to complete the exam and will need a grade of 70% or higher to pass. A short review of correct answers will follow examination. Range Time: Your course of fire shall consist of 48 rounds. Your minimum acceptable score on the range course will be 168 points of a possible 240. You will be allowed to make three attempts at achieving a passing score of 70% (168 points) or greater. If you qualify on the first pass, you will not need to fire the additional two. COURSE PRICE The cost of the course includes course materials, range fees, targets, eyes and ears.

To work armed security in Florida, you are required to complete the Florida Statewide Firearms License Course. The ESS Global Corporation, Department of Education approved Florida G License Classes in Tampa is the best way to acquire the required firearms training course you must complete to work as an armed security guard.
As stated in the Florida Private Investigator Handbook, an applicant for a Florida Class “G” Statewide Firearm license must have a minimum of twenty-eight (28) hours of range and classroom training within the past (12) months. This training must be taught and administered by a Class “K” Firearms Instructor. In addition to lesson instruction and live fire training, you will be walked through the State application step-by-step to ensure that the Class “G” license application is complete and filled out properly.

The ASP Basic Certification (ABC) is a 7-hour, hands-on seminar which trains participants in the operational use of the ASP Tactical Baton. The program is simple to learn and easy to understand. It provides effective defensive impact weapon tactics for law enforcement and private security personnel, as well as responsible civilians without long hours of training. The techniques were designed to work effectively for all users, male and female, large and small, fit as well as those in less-than-peak physical condition.
The program provides portation (carrying) and presentation (drawing) procedures as well as striking techniques. These tactics are quickly learned, easily practiced and readily maintained long after the program is completed.
The ASP Tactical Baton is designed to be used as an impact weapon, not a come-along device. There are no complicated holds or complex moves.

It is recommended that police officers and private security personnel bring and wear their entire duty belts to assist in creating a more realistic training scenario. (Please ensure that firearms are NOT introduced into the classroom or training room.)
2. Appropriate Clothing – Students should bring appropriate clothing to participate in the classroom portion of the presentation. Athletic clothing is recommended for hands-on training and drills.
3. Note-Taking Material – Pen, pencil, and paper to take notes with in the classroom. This course is 7 hours and the tuition is $175.00
