Security Advance and Threat Assessment Training in Tampa

Recent acts of targeted violence in the United States and around the world, such as the attack in a club at Paris, the Washington Navy Yard, San Bernardino, Orlando and more, reinforce the need for law enforcement, security guards, corporations, executive/close protection professionals to be knowledgeable and skilled in threat assessment and threat management.
Many acts of targeted violence are indeed preventable, making their eventual occurrence even more tragic. Time and time again, perpetrators who have gone on to commit violence, most all were known to their respective communities as being a potential problem. Security Advance and Threat Assessment Training and Situational Awareness Training have been shown to be very effective,  which not only helps to reduce risk but can also provide an accurate road map for successful intervention should the need arise.

So what is Advance Security and Threat Assessment?
It is a security survey of all parts of an itinerary to include hotels, restaurants, venues, vehicles, other transport, hospitals, & primary/alternative routes of travel.  This is performed by Executive Protection/Close Protection Agents prior to the arrival of the protective detail at each city, state or county and venue that the client or “protectee” visits. Advance Security and Threat Assessment is the most important aspect of Executive Protection.

Advance Security and Threat Assessment is the portion of the protective service detail that will make or break how well you protect your client. For a successful outcome working as a security agent, you must have each potential site your client will visit well prepared to accommodate; from both a security and a comfort perspective. For everything to work smoothly you must have communicated appropriately with local law enforcement for support if needed, and have handled every aspect in a precise manner.
When all this runs smoothly–the advance work you have performed will be as important as a surgeon in the operating room, or a director on a movie set.
You will be responsible for putting together a threat assessment and security advance of several different areas and then using your assessment to create a Security Brief which will be turned in by the end of the course.  This will include all route reconnaissance, site surveys, meetings with individuals of importance (i.e. Restaurant managers, hotel security, FBO security, etc) and anything else related to Threat Assessment and Security Advances. Before we release our students onto the streets to perform these operations, we will teach them how to perform these actions up to industry standards.
