Orlando Concealed Carry Training

If you are looking for Orlando concealed carry training, you should know that there are CWP Trainers, CWP Classes and CWP Schools. A “school” needs to be certified by the State (in this case Florida) Department of Education.
That being said, the fact is that there is but one Protection School in Florida that is certified by the Florida Department of Education as a Protection School and that would be ESS Global Corp.

The Value of Concealed Carry

Orlando Concealed Carry Training
Concealed handguns protect people because you simply cannot rely on police forces for assault protection.  A 2013 research article in the Wall Street Journal reported that the average police response time to an emergency assault call is 11 minutes (read that study here), with some responses taking much longer. In Detroit the average response time is 58 minutes. Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack said, “police do very little to prevent violent crime. We investigate crime after the fact.”
In 2014 there were over 1.8 million calls to the police for assault.  Don’t become a statistic.  Arm yourself and learn how to protect yourself.

Orlando Concealed Carry Training

If you are in the Orlando area, why would you not want the very best CWP training available in the state?
So maybe you’ve been thinking about getting a CWP. As ESS sees it there are 2 valid reasons.

  • You can be safe without firing one shot.  Government figures from the National Survey of Criminal Victimization show just shy of 100,000 uses a year of guns in self-defense against crime and violence, with “the vast majority of these uses being the display of weapons to deter or dissuade the intended crime.” But remember that carrying a weapon is a deterrent to crime. If you think it’s cool to pull out a weapon just to scare people away, that is a crime.
  • One never knows where trouble starts. You go to the grocery store, make a quick visit to a bank, or just walk down your street on a beautiful summer evening.  All your day to day activities are fine right until that moment when it becomes a threat in just the blink of an eye.  The simple truth is, “a gun that’s not loaded and on your person is statistically the same as having no gun at all.”

Earn your class certification to get your concealed weapons license with our NRA certified instructors.  You will learn the laws based on the Florida Statutes relating to concealed carry and cover safety techniques as well.  Our class takes 2 hours to complete. You will leave with your certificate in your hand.  The course outline is as follows:

Situational Awareness Training

Due in large part to the recent attacks in France, the recent episodes of church shootings, cinema, school, office and club violence in the US. In a sense, we are all responsible for our own safety. Situational Awareness training is as much a skill as it is a mindset. In the ESS Global Situational Awareness training class, you will learn the skills utilized by distinguished branches of the military, such as the Coast Guard and Secret Service.
People typically operate on several distinct levels of awareness. There are many ways to describe these levels, for instance “Cooper’s Colors,” which is a system frequently used in law enforcement and military training.

Here is a Basic Overview of Situational Awareness Training

Condition White

situational awareness training code whiteUNAWARE/UNPREPARED. This is a condition you should try to avoid, as it means you will probably lose. You are daydreaming, and unaware of your surroundings. A fight, a rape, a robbery, an assault, anything you can think of you are oblivious to. The only time that you’re in condition white is when you’re asleep. And even then, you wouldn’t consider yourself unprepared; you’re just unaware.
If attacked in Condition White, the only thing that may save you is the inadequacy or ineptitude of your attacker. When confronted by something, your reaction will most likely be “This can’t be right. This can’t be happening to me.”
Unfortunately, too many people spend much of their lives in this state of mind.
The first level, tuned out, is similar to when you are driving in a very familiar environment or are engrossed in thought, a daydream, a song on the radio that suddenly takes your mind back to a place and time, then suddenly you’re at your destination without even remembering the drive there. Have you ever arrived somewhere in your vehicle without even really thinking about your drive there? If so, then you’ve experienced being tuned out. You’ve experienced Condition White.

Condition Yellow

RELAXED ALERT Yellow means you are aware of what is happening around you, but you do not perceive any potential threats. Your mindset should be that you are prepared to defend yourself if the need arises. Everywhere you go, everything you do, you should be in Condition Yellow. You should keep an eye on the people around you, and continuously rate each person’s danger level in your mind.
There is no specific threat situation. The Relaxed Yellow Alert is simply realizing that today could be the day I may have to defend myself. You are aware that the world is can be an unfriendly place and that you are prepared to defend yourself, if and when necessary.situational awareness training - ESS Global
The second level of awareness, relaxed awareness, is like defensive driving. This is a state in which you are relaxed but are also watching the other cars on the road and are looking at the road ahead for potential hazards. What if a kid runs out in the road, what if someone runs the stop sign? If you’ve had these thoughts when driving you’ve experienced Condition Yellow, Relaxed Alert.

Condition Orange

situational awareness training SPECIFIC ALERT This means that there is a potential threat that has gotten your attention. This can be almost anything and usually results in nothing, at which time you then fall back to yellow. An example of Condition Orange could be when you spot what appears to be a firearm under a bulky coat… Instantly, you determine exactly what you’re going to do if he reaches for that gun.
In this stage, something is not quite right and has your attention. Your radar has picked up a specific alert. This sets a mental trigger. “If that person does X, I need to do Y”.
Again using the driving analogy, this is like driving in hazardous road conditions. You turn the radio down, you don’t even think of looking at a text on your phone. You have both hands on the wheel and the road has 101% of your attention. We’ve all been in Orange. A blinding snowstorm, a dark thunderstorm, fog in the mountains.  That’s Specific Alert territory.

Condition Red

FIGHT/ACTION This means that you are in a lethal mode of mindset and will fight if the circumstances are warranted. The guy with the bulky coat draws a semiautomatic from under his coat. At this point, you now implement your action plan that was determined during Condition Orange. This doesn’t always mean fight. If you don’t have the means to put up a fight, your best plan might be to wait and see what happens or even retreat and call the police. But you took action on the plan you made in yellow.
Situational Awareness training code redThis is what happens when a kid does chase a ball right in front of you or that car you are watching at that intersection ahead actually doesn’t have any intention of stopping at the stop sign and pulls out right in front of you. It’s a gasp, a prayer and a rush of adrenalin. But you maintained control. You hit the brakes, you swerved to avoid. You functioned.
When you go to Condition Red, the trigger has been tripped. The “Didn’t see that coming” of White became the “What if” in Yellow that has now become “Plan for it” in Orange and “Execute” in Red.
The ESS Global Situational Awareness Training is a 4-6 hour course, depending on the size of the class and other factors.
There is really nobody who could not benefit from Situational Awareness Training.
The next class open to the general public is just $75 and is on January 28th

Employee Termination Security – Tampa, Orlando Florida

ESS Global Corporation provides Employee Termination Security in Tampa, Orlando and throughout Florida.
It’s that time of year. The holidays cause plenty of stress. It’s also the time of year many companies take a look at their budget. The vast majority of organizations run on a calendar year budget, and the year-end coincides with the need to achieve year-end numbers.
Firings and layoffs are always stressful. With workplace violence and aggression escalating, the stress of the holidays, and companies wanting to start the new year off fresh, it’s a recipe for a potential problem.
ESS- Experts in Employee Termination Security
Most managers deal with the unpleasant task of terminating an employee at some point. Whether or not the employee is expecting the termination, there is always a chance of violence, aggression or retaliation from the terminated employee. Even employees who seem to handle the termination well may try to sabotage the company or individual staff members.  ESS Global recommends that you take the same precautions with every terminated employee to avoid unexpected problems.

These Employee Termination Security safety tips protect the physical workplace, the property of the company and the physical well-being of employees.

  • Ask another manager or some other company representative, as well as professional security to stay in the room when the employee is terminated. This provides a level of security and can help diffuse anger toward the immediate supervisor.
  • Call your building security to either accompany you or stay close on standby in case the termination turns threatening or violent. If your inclination is that the employee may react violently and you don’t have building security, consider hiring security personnel temporarily. It’s a small investment for safety on all sides.
  • ESS employee Termination Security Escort the employee to her desk or office to retrieve her personal belongings. Have a person in a supervisory role, preferably with security at all times, in order to ensure that they don’t steal or damage company property or threaten other employees.
  • Collect all items issued by the company that could give the employee access to the building, including items such as security badges, parking permits and keys/fobs.
  • Escort the employee to the door. Watch the employee leave the premises. If you have security people in the parking lot or inside the building, provide a description of the employee’s vehicle and personal appearance so they can watch for the employee if they attempt to return. If you hire temporary security, they will know to stick around for a bit. Most everyone cools off, the tinderbox is the day of the termination. In most cases of workplace violence, it happens the same day as the firing.
  • Announce the termination to other employees so they can be on alert if the terminated employee comes back to the building. Remind them not to share any company information with the terminated employee or any other people who aren’t currently employed by the company. Avoid going into the details if they aren’t relevant to the situation to protect the privacy of the employee.

While such an event is not easy on the individual being fired, it is also difficult on the employer having to fire that individual.  Unfortunately, this process often leads to a verbal, and in some cases, physical altercation.  We offer our services in an effort to prevent these altercations from happening and we ensure both parties part ways amicably.  We have operated in several different capacities during this process.  We can be in the room while the process takes place and ensure that there are no altercations between the parties, we can be in the room with the employee and conduct the business ourselves or we are there to escort the employees off property or to their vehicles to ensure safety for both sides.
