The NRA basic Pistol course has intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, the various types of pistols, the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, various pistol firing positions, several practical exercises, cleaning, storage, and a summary of pistol sports and activities.

Our NRA Basic Pistol Course is great for men and women that have little experience handling firearms. As a matter of fact, bring the whole family! Our class is taught by an NRA certified instructor. This class teaches you all about proper gun safety and the fundamentals of shooting.
This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
This is an 8 hour course – 5 hours classroom and 3 hours range time.
This course is for novice and experienced firearms enthusiasts who own a handgun. It consists of five hours of classroom time, with up to a three hour live fire portion.
