INTRODUCTION
It is ESS Global Corporation’s top priority to ensure our customers complete our courses with the highest quality and thorough training available, and the most up to date information. Our firearms instructor comes to the table with 40 plus years of experience in the security industry.
As per Florida State Chapter 493 provision, all Florida License “G” Armed Security Officers must re-qualify, at least once a year, by training and being evaluated on their use of a handgun.
The licensee must also submit proof that a minimum of four hours of firearms re-certification training, taught by a Class “K” licensee, has been received for that year of the license period.
This proof is done by turning in form # 16005 CERTIFICATE OF FIREARMS PROFICIENCY FOR STATEWIDE FIREARM LICENSE (given to the student by the instructor) to the Division of Licensing upon completion, but before certified date, of the four-hour course.

Program Description
The 4-hour course will consist of classroom time, testing, review and range time.
Classroom: Two hours of class will be given according to regulations. There is a mandatory class curriculum that will be conducted during this period. The student is asked to bring their firearm to the classroom unloaded along with duty belt if applicable, a minimum of two speed loaders or two magazines as appropriate as there will be dry fire practice.
Test and Review: A 25 question written test will be administered after the class curriculum is done. The student will have up to one hour to complete the exam and will need a grade of 70% or higher to pass. A short review of correct answers will follow examination.
Range Time: Your course of fire shall consist of 48 rounds. Your minimum acceptable score on the range course will be 168 points of a possible 240. You will be allowed to make three attempts at achieving a passing score of 70% (168 points) or greater. If you qualify on the first pass, you will not need to fire the additional two.

The ESS Advanced Concealed Carry Class is meant for those who are already familiar and comfortable in handling and shooting a handgun; this is not for beginners.
This is a perfect class for those that have completed an NRA Basic Pistol Class, or Concealed Carry Class, or visit the range and are comfortable with their handgun.
Additionally, this 6 hour training will make you more proficient with your handgun than the vast majority of those who carry (including those with dangerous intentions).
Advanced Concealed Carry Training in Tampa JAN
This course will cover several topics over about 6 hours (give or take). These categories are:

  • Firearms safety
  • Firearms handling
  • Best practices and mindset
  • Tactical techniques
  • Malfunction clearances
  • Advanced firearms shooting skills
  • Aiming, point shooting and hip shooting
  • Running and gunning
  • Evaluation drills will include simulated scenarios such as hostage situations and active shooter scenarios

95% of this course will be hands on instruction.
We will be outside all day for the class. Dry- fire practice, as well as live shooting will take place.

At the end of the day, you should be able to identify a threat, draw your firearm from a concealed position and put two rounds in the thoracic cavity in about two seconds. (This will vary on the person and the way the firearm is concealed)

EQUIPMENT

You should bring the following equipment to the course:

  • Your concealed carry gun, holster, at least two magazines but preferably three along with pouches to hold the extra magazines (or speed loaders if you are bringing a revolver)
  • 400 rounds of ammunition (full metal jacket)
  • Comfortable clothes including a ball cap type hat. You should also bring and outer shirt/coat or outer garment that covers the gun, or purse, fanny pack or any other garments, since we will be shooting from a concealed platform. Typically, you should bring the clothing you would usually use when you are out an about, carrying your concealed firearm
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Bring sunscreen/protectant if you need to
  • You might want to bring sweat rags or something similar or warm clothing if conditions are cold.

The primary goal of this course is to develop the tactical knowledge, skill set, and attitude essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation.

The course will have a duration of approximately 6 hours with a limited number of students so as to receive a one-on-one instruction platform. This class will definitely give you a broader and better understanding of how to handle your firearm safely and effectively with increased performance and accuracy.

Shotgun Qualification
As per Florida State Chapter 493 provision, all Florida License “G” Armed Security Officers seeking to become certified with a shotgun, must qualify by training and being evaluated on their use of a shotgun. Important note
You must have a valid G license to be certified to carry a shotgun as a security officer but, YOU DON’T NEED TO BE A SECURITY OFFICER TO TAKE THIS COURSE. If you are just looking to understand the functioning, operation and safe use of a shotgun, you are welcome to come to this course.
Classes
The four-hour course will consist of classroom time, testing, review and range time. The cost of the course is $200 and includes course materials, range fees, targets, eyes and ears; ammunition is also included.

Classroom; 2.5 hours of class will be given according to regulations. There is a mandatory class curriculum that will be conducted during this period. The student is asked to bring their shotgun to the classroom unloaded. There will be dry-fire practice.
Test & review; a 25-question test will be performed after the class curriculum is done. The student will have up to half an hour to complete the exam and will need a grade of 70% or higher to pass.
Range time; your official course of fire evolution will consist of 24 rounds using 2 and ¾ inch double aught buckshot. However, we recommend you bring at least 40 rounds. Your minimum acceptable score on the range course will be 50 pellets on target of a possible 72 which is equivalent to 70%. You will be allowed to make three attempts at achieving a passing score or greater.
Upon the completion of this course, the student will be able to demonstrate the following skills and techniques:

  • Safe shotgun handling
  • Identifications of shotgun parts and ammunition
  • Shotgun cleaning and maintenance
  • Shotgun loading and unloading
  • Basic shotgun shooting principles
  • Proficiency with a shotgun by shooting a qualifying score while exhibiting proper shotgun handling
  • Proper intervention for shotgun malfunctions.
